Undergraduate students

How will my Campus Tour Experience be affected by COVID-19?

Starting July 1st we will once again invite prospective students and their families to join us on campus to learn more about Concordia University Wisconsin. We are excited to share what CUW has to offer and to be able to show you around our beautifully scenic campus through our Campus Tour Experience. We are taking proactive steps to ensure the health and safety of our community amid the COVID-19 concerns.

Please review the COVID-19 precaution outline below so you know what to expect during your upcoming tour experience:

  • Campus Tour Experiences will have a limited amount of families per tour time
    • We’re looking forward to meeting members of your family as well, but ask that you limit your guests to those in your household.
  • Tours will be mostly exterior/outside when possible. Concordia’s campus is connected by 3.5 miles of underground hallways but for the safety of our visitors and campus community we will be holding tours with a mostly exterior/outside format with interior building highlights.
  • If you have any COVID-like symptoms – fever, cough or shortness of breath, no matter how mild, or if you have been in contact with someone with a confirmed case of the virus – please do not come to campus. Visitors who display symptoms on arrival will be asked to reschedule.
  • If you have recently traveled internationally, please do not schedule a visit unless you have completed a 14-day self-quarantine.
  • All of our staff will be wearing masks, and visitors will be required to wear masks as well. Please feel free to bring your own or we will have some provided, if needed.
  • Social-distancing standards should be followed at all times during your visit.
  • We recommend that at-risk people, as identified by the CDC (60 years or older and/or with underlying medical conditions), stay at home for their safety.
  • We will have hand sanitizer stations available, and recommend following personal hygiene guidelines (frequent hand washing, avoid touching your face, etc.).
    We hope you’ll find these to be minor inconveniences and we look forward to connecting and continuing to share all the pieces that make Concordia a truly uncommon community.

I’m registered for a visit or event that was cancelled. What should I do?

We hope you can join us on a later date. In the meantime, you can watch our virtual tour or contact your admission counselor with any questions you have about becoming a Falcon. Will Summer Orientation still take place?

To maintain the health and safety of our students, their families, and our staff, we have transitioned our Summer Orientation experience to virtual delivery. We will no longer be hosting on campus Summer Orientation events. That doesn’t diminish the excitement we have for you to begin your journey at CUW. We are eager for the opportunity to welcome you and have developed an engaging experience to ensure you feel like a Falcon on your first day of class!

Summer orientation dates: If you haven’t already, make sure you register for an Orientation date! On your Summer Orientation day, CUW’s Academic and Career Advisors will connect with you personally to walk you through your academic program and help you register for your fall 2020 semester courses. These connections will take place via Zoom. Details regarding the events of the day will be shared with you one week prior to your Summer Orientation day.

Online platform: To help you get to know CUW, as well as learn what it's like to be a Falcon, we will be utilizing an online Orientation platform. This program will walk you through several modules to ensure you have the information you need to begin your journey at CUW. Details regarding the Orientation platform will be shared with you one week prior to your Summer Orientation day.

Parent/family engagement: Parents and family members – we did not forget about you! We will also have an online platform, specific to parents and families, that will provide you with important information on supporting your student in this transition to college. Although we will miss the opportunity to host you on campus this summer, we remain committed to getting to know you personally and supporting you during every step of your CUW journey. Will this spring semester of high school impact my future or current admission?

We pride ourselves on a holistic approach to the Admission process. If you are currently in the process of applying or you have been admitted, then the current semester will have no impact on your admission decision. If you are looking to apply in the future, we will work with you to ensure the impact of this current semester is appropriate. We completely understand the changing dynamics this current semester has on your education and we will change our policies and procedures appropriately.

Has the enrollment process changed?

No. High school seniors will still follow the same format; complete the free online application, send transcripts and test scores, and receive acceptance notification.

Who can I send transcripts to?

If you still have the ability to contact your guidance counselor or guidance office, please have them send transcript digitally. If that is not an option, please contact your admission counselor for directions on how to send transcripts.

How do I connect with my admission counselor?

Will admissions decisions still be made in a timely manner?

Yes! We have had a seamless transition to complete admission decisions digitally in real time.

How will admissions decisions be communicated?

Your admissions decision will come via email and you will receive a phone call from your admission counselor.

Has the financial aid process been impacted?

No changes have been made to financial aid. Please complete the FAFSA at Your admissions counselor will be in touch with you about all of the next steps.

How has campus housing been impacted?
No changes have been made to the incoming student campus housing process. Fall 2020 confirmed students will submit the $300 housing deposit and housing application through their student portal. All incoming students who have completed the housing application by June 1st will be assigned within the first batch of student housing assignments. Those students will be notified of their housing assignment no later than mid-June.

Evening, Graduate, Online and Adult Accelerated students

Has the enrollment process changed?

What is the impact on classes?

Alternative delivery of classes began on March 16 and will continue until further notice. Courses that were originally scheduled to be delivered face-to-face will now be conducted using Zoom technology. Students will have classes using their personal devices at home or in an alternative, private environment. Zoom can be accessed by a laptop or other personal devices, such as a tablet or phone. Your class instructor will be contacting you before the start of classes with additional instructions. If you find you have technology challenges, please contact your admission counselor or instructor immediately. What if I don’t have the technological support or equipment at home to participate in alternative modes of learning?

Depending on your location several internet providers are offering discount services on Wi-Fi during this time.

Personal hotspot is a tool that uses your cell phone connection to create a personal Wi-Fi access point. Please check with your cell phone provider for more information, as rates may apply. If you find you have technology challenges, please contact your admission counselor or instructor immediately.

What is the best way to get updates on what’s happening at CUW?

Graduate students

Are online graduate courses still on schedule for April and summer?

Yes! Courses that are fully online will proceed as scheduled. Even face to face courses previously scheduled will still be held virtually if needed. Our faculty and staff are well equipped with the resources necessary to keep all of our programs on track.

How can I contact my graduate admission counselor with questions?

Your graduate admission counselor is working remotely and is happy to assist you with any of your questions. You can email them to request a Zoom meeting, which they will schedule at your convenience. If you don’t know your counselor’s email address, you can also reach them at graduate.admission@cuw.ed.

Will my application still be reviewed and processed?

Yes! Our regular process will continue, including uploading transcripts we receive by email or paper mail. Our application review process has been electronic since last academic year, so working remotely will not disrupt the timeline.

Will acceptance decisions still be made in a timely manner?

Yes. We will maintain our current processes and communicate admission decisions as quickly as possible.

My current school is closed due to COVID-19 and I need to submit an official transcript. What should I do?

If you have access to your unofficial transcript, please submit that to us. Your admission counselor will be in touch with you regarding your admission decision after reviewing your application. Once your school reopens, please arrange to have your official transcript sent as soon as possible.

My on-campus program starts this summer. Will I have to take online courses?

This is still to be determined and will depend on the status of the virus at that time. Program directors are preparing for the possibility in the event this will need to happen. Please contact your admission counselor for any updates.

Adult Accelerated students

How can I find an Adult Accelerated Admission Counselor at Concordia University Wisconsin?

Do you provide an unofficial evaluation for incoming students?

How can I request an official transcript from my high school?

Some high school districts offer transcript request forms to be filled out online, through their website. Although, school buildings are closed please be sure to contact your school district for more information. If you are unable to access official transcripts but you have an unofficial copy– you may scan, upload, or take a picture with your cell phone and submit them directly to your admission counselor.

What happens after I’m admitted?

Your Admission Counselor will contact you by phone, email, and text.

You will also be assigned a Student Success Advisor who will guide you through course selections for your program, and be available to you through your entire program.

Are Centers still open?
No, all of our regional Centers and extended campuses are closed to the public during the pandemic. For questions related to Center closures please email
Can I schedule CLEP and DSST exams?

No, we are not conducting CLEP or DSST placement exams at this time.

What is the mini-term schedule?

Undergraduate courses and Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Administration (OLA) courses begin every 6-weeks. MBA courses begin every 8-weeks – through Zoom format. Please connect with your admission counselor to find specific upcoming dates.

International students

Is CUW still processing international applications?

Yes! Applications are still being accepted and processed on a regular basis. We expect very minimal delays due to remote processing coordination. Each application is still being reviewed in an expedited fashion.

If I make the tuition deposit when can I expect my I-20?

Along with applications, I-20’s will continue to be processed on a regular basis. To expedite the process, ensure you have all submitted all of the required documentation (passport copy, official financial documents and affidavit of support (if needed), as well as the international student tuition deposit at:

What if visa interviews aren’t available in my country?

We anticipate the closure of embassies and consulates to remain temporarily, but we do not anticipate these services to be completely unavailable prior to the fall 2020 start. You are encouraged to monitor the U.S. State Department's travel website, where you can check updated wait times, as well as openings and closures. Ensure that you have paid your I-901 fee as soon as you receive your I-20 so you are eligible to schedule your visa interview as soon as possible upon reopening. You can pay that fee here.

What if visa interviews aren’t available prior to the fall 2020 start?

All accepted and deposited students who are unable to attend a visa interview in time to start in the fall will receive a deferred start date for spring 2021. Cases in which a deferral is required will receive a new I-20 with no additional charges.

I planned to take an IELTS or TOEFL exam, but the test dates are cancelled in my country. What can I do now?

We’re pleased to offer you the option to submit a Duolingo test result instead. You can check your options on the Duolingo website.
